VIDEO GAMES

Minecraft (modded)

Do I really have to say anything about the number 1 best selling video game of all time every grandmas knows about?

ENA Dream BBQ

Ena dream BBQ is an exploration surreal game, currently there is only one chapter available. Don't play ENA Dream BBQ if you expect a normal gaming experience, this entire game feels more like a work of dreamlike art.

You play as ENA, a salesman searching for the "Boss", a puzzling entity that ENA tries to find throughout the game. Along the way, she will meet other characters who have jobs for her, and so the amount of tasks and goals will keep growing.

The thing with ENA Dream BBQ is that since it's a surreal game in nature, it's hard to describe what really is the "end goal", there isn't really one... You explore places and interact with the unusual entities and learn more about the strange world these people live in.

Toontown: Corporate Clash

Toontown: Corporate Clash (TTCC) is a re-imagined fan server of the 2004 MMO Toontown.

It is constantly being worked on by passionate developpers who aren't even remunated for their work (so be patient with them!) You play as a cartoony animal (toon) who defends their home against the cogs, business robots trying to take over Toontown.

TTCC is very different than Toontown Rewritten (if you ever heard of it) since TTR is more for nostalgia and try its best to stay true to the original Toontown.

TTCC likes to add many, many, many new things that weren't in the original game, such as mini-bosses (they're named managers, but don't think that just because they are mini-bosses they aren't hard to beat, some of them are way harder than actual mainline bosses!) new clothes and outfits, a club and a group research system, a social place to either chill or do some roleplay (the pizzeria), and MORE!!!

(A lot of characters you will see on my website come from TTCC!)

EmuFer.al

Fer.al is a 2020 MMO that was supposed to be animal jam but for an older audience, you play as a mystical creature (dragon, fae, shinigami etc) wandering the many realms of the planet, acquiring ressources, trading, or just socializing with other players.

Unfortunately Wildworks, the company behind Fer.al and animal jam never finished the game and instead shut down in march 26, 2022, because the higher ups decided to make a copy-paste of Fer.al named Cinder that was literally a NFT scam that also shutted down a year later (rip and fuck them bozos).

Emufer.al is, just like toontown corporate clash, a revival fan server where the developpers also work hard for free and offers new mods and other things that weren't in the base game, such as creative mode, where you can have acess to all the items and creature avatars in the game from the start (In the original game, many items and avatars had to be bought with actual money).

Super Paper Mario

Super Paper Mario (SPM) is a Wii action role-playing game that came out in 2007, despite it's age, it still has a community surrounding it.

The story starts with Mario and Luigi chilling in their home when suddenly a Toad alerts them that the Mushroom castle has been raided by Bowser and that she's missing.

Mario and Luigi arrives at the castle, Bowser goes into a monologue about how Princess Peach will be his (for the fucking bazillion time) (I promise it gets better okay).

When suddenly some blueberry tumblr sexyman bozo shows up out of nowhere, along with Princess Peach, explaining that she will be a tool to destroy all worlds and then he fucks off, but he takes Luigi, Bowser and all the minions in the castle with him and then the adventure begins... (I really suck at making a good introduction)

SPM is a mario game that I love dearly because it is in my opinion the most emotional and lore ridden mario game of them all, despite the paper graphics it tells a story that is well written and rich and I highly suggest you play it if you enjoy the Paper Mario franchise (or if you like platformer role playing game)

Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 (18+)

FNV

The fallout franchise takes place in an alternate universe on a post-post-apocalyptic Earth where the cold war never ceased and the tensions between the Eastern Bloc and the Western Bloc kept rising which resulted in a worldwide apocalypse in 2077 caused by atomic nukes who were launched all around the globe

The year is 2281, you play as a courier who is carrying a mysterious chip. Your task is to deliver it to the strange ruler of New Vegas, Edward House.

Unfortunately for you, many other malicious characters wants this enigmatic chip, and so in the beginning of the game you get shot in the head by a man named Benny Gecko. The good news is that he didn't make sure that the big hole in your head actually killed you and it turns out it's going to take more than that to stop you...

FO4

You wake up as a Vault Dweller, the Sole Survivor, reawakaned from their cryopod inside a vault. Unlike in FNV, where you play a character that was born during the post-post apocalypse, in Fallout 4, you play a character who belongs to the pre-apocalypse, a person who doesn't know much about the new world they found themselves in.

Said Sole Survivor witnessed the murder of their spouse and the kidnapping of their child, Shaun. The SS will then start exploring the Commonwealth, in search of their kid and the responsible behind the death of their loved one.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing has always been a cozy game franchise, where there is no stress nor pressure to do anything, You can pretty much do whatever you want wherever you want. For those who never played AC: it's a game where you are a newcomer to a town (or in New Horizon, an island) and you are helped by Tom Nook, a racoon NPC who will lend you some helpful items (and also your first house) to help you in your newfound home.

However Nook (and also you, the player) needs money to upgrade your home and your town. There are many things you can do to obtain bells, which are the in-game currency, such as selling fruits, vegetables, bugs, fishes and even fossils (there is a cool museum in the game where you can also donate fossils and bugs/fishes).

I never played New Leaf (which is often considered the best animal crossing game) But I did play New Horizon, who isn't as beloved, but that I still hold dear to my heart.

I really love the ability to terraform the island in which you live in AC:NH, which is an option that isn't available in other AC games. That way you can remodel your island the way you want, it could be an island filled with water or with high cliffs etc...

Anyway, it's a solid experience in my opinion if you enjoy cozy and slower paced video games.
